ABERDEEN, Wash. — Wednesday afternoon at Stewart Field Green River defeated the Chokers 8-0. Hat tricks from
Jazmyne DuBose and
Bria Alabe powered the offense. While keeper
Chelsea Gunawan and the defense pitched a shut out.
The Gators kicked off the scoring early, scoring twice within the first ten minutes. DuBose scored in the seventh minute, her first of three on the day as previously mentioned, off an assist from
Autumn Carroll, her first of three on the day as well.
Natalya Huffaker added to the lead in the ninth minute to put GRC up 2-0. The goal was Huffaker's third on the season. The black and green went in to the half up two goals to none.
Bria Alabe opened the second half finding the back of the net, her first goal of the hat trick, Carroll had the assist. Alabe also scored in the 75th and 78th minute after DuBose netted her second 68th minute.
The score stood 6-0 when
Luci Ramey got on the board in the 82nd minute. DuBose closed out the scoring with an assist from Ramey in the 86th minute.
Ramey leads the team with nine goals on the year, DuBose is right behind her with seven, and Alabe is third on the team with four.
This was GRC's fifth shut out on the season as they find themselves in fourth place in the west region.
Saturday September 26th, the Gators take on SPS in Lacey. Kick off takes place at noon.
