Shannon Percell is in her ninth year as Director of Athletics and Recreation at Green River College. Under her leadership, the Gators have captured multiple conference titles, produced All-American athletes, and most notably, won the NWAC Men’s Basketball Championship in 2023–24. Shannon was named a 2024–25 NACDA Junior/Community College Athletics Director of the Year and received the NWAC’s Dutch Triebwasser Outstanding Administrator of the Year award in 2022–23.
A former NCAA Division I student-athlete, Shannon graduated from the University of Montana in 2001 with a B.A. in Psychology. She helped the Grizzlies to three Big Sky Championships and two NCAA Tournament appearances. Individually, she was a four-time All-Big Sky First Team selection, Freshman All-America Third Team honoree, and earned NSCAA All-West Team recognition in 1999 and 2000.
Shannon transitioned to coaching after college, leading Sonoma Academy to back-to-back North Coast Section titles and serving as an assistant coach at Sonoma State, University of Idaho, Seattle University, and Montana. In 2012, she moved into athletics administration at Sonoma State, rising from Business Operations Specialist to Associate Athletics Director and Interim AD, while also serving as the department’s Senior Woman Administrator.
She earned her Master’s in Sport Administration and Leadership from Seattle University in 2009.
A Tacoma, Wash. native, Shannon lives in Sumner with her husband, Shawn, and their three boys, Owen, Duncan, and Parker.
